My Self

I get up in the morning.

Everyday I brush my teeth.

Then I take my bath.

I wear clean clothes.

I take my meal regularly.

I play with my friends.

Stories of Liberation War of Bangladesh

Suddenly her eyes sparkled. She told the angry soldiers, "Please listen to me! I drew the picture. I am Bulbul Chowdhury. My son's name is Babul.

“Bulbul was moaning on the floor. He was stunned at what his mother was saying! “Why is she telling a lie? Why?" Bulbul was puzzled.

Right that moment, he heard the voice of a cruel soldier, “You old woman! Don't you know, one who cast vote for the emblem of the boat is our bitterest enemy? And don't you know, what can be the enemy's fate?”

Now everything was clear to Bulbul. He was extremely worried and began to tremble. If he did not express the truth, he was afraid that his mother would immediately be shot to death by the soldiers!

He also realized that because his father was an influential person of the Awami League, he was compelled to leave town, as he was the target of the Pakistani military. His mother was trying to protect themselves from such violence.

The barbarous soldiers were approaching his mother! Bulbul was frozen with fear. He could visualize his mother's fate-death!“Oh my mother! My dear mother!" Bulbul cried out.

Mother Nature

Granny is very popular due to her mysterious knack for telling fairytales. She has an interesting habit though, some even find this a bit peculiar. It is regarding the tales that she tells. Granny will never start telling a tale out of the blue. She has this strange habit of letting slip of a riddle beforehand. She tells the story itself in such a manner that it feels all too real. Gripped by excitement, her grand-children would often lose track of time. This particular time, a commotion broke out among the kids. As a matter of fact, Sami and Medha could barely sleep a wink, or eat. Barely could they even pay attention to their studies. It seemed Granny had let slip yet another riddle. Everyone was buzzed with anticipation even greater than usual. They had one question or another bubbling up in their mind. When would it happen? How would it happen? Why would it happen? Their curiosity was endless.

Mulla Nasruddin

Many stranded travellers were camping outside the city gates for the night. This was becoming a daily routine because of the corrupt soldiers. As Mulla and his donkey were walking along wondering what to eat, they met a man and his goat. The man shouted. “Try to make this goat shake its head for two thanks. If you succeed, you will win fifty thank as." Many people tried their luck but the goat stood like a frozen statue. "If I win the money, we would have nice meals as well as save some for tomorrow," Mulla said to his donkey, and gave two thankas to the man.
